Healing with respect for your journey, because all parts of you are welcome
- no matter what.

If you’ve been trying for years to improve your outlook, create a better life, learn how to relax and stop doing all the things you wish you would stop doing, then you may already know. Mental health isn’t about “figuring things out.” You’re smart. If it was - you’d be there by now.

Our mind-body (there is now widespread agreement that much of our memory is actually stored in the body), is more complex than most of us realize. Our subconscious can’t be cajoled, coerced, or pressured for long.

The methods I are use in my practice, namely IFS* and ITR*, are some of the most advanced disciplines in the mental health profession. They have an outstanding record of success, relying both on the intrinsic wisdom of the mind-body and on contemporary neurological science. I love them because they are gentle, safe, and respectful of the inner workings of each person.

That feeling of safety and trust is what allows people to access the protected subconscious. I approach each client with respect for their journey, and the creative genius that brought them to my office intact. I work with people in a partnership - actively guiding them in the process of healing their injuries, and recovering their true nature and potential. This process is not about mitigating or suppressing distress. It is about healing and releasing traumatic stress injuries so that people can live with more freedom, real choice, and joy.

*Internal Family Systems (IFS) *Instinctual Trauma Response (ITR)

Congratulations for making the decision to visit. I’m so glad you’re here.

Personally, I believe that getting to know and heal our mind is the most important gift we can give ourselves and our world, in this lifetime. I know that’s a big statement, and it took me half a century to come to that. But there it is. So welcome! Truely.

I am an Internal Family Systems (IFS) Practitioner. I couple IFS with with Instinctive Trauma Response healing (ITR) where it seems like a good fit. ITR is great for healing those shards of memory known as PTS, and then going deeper into recovery with IFS. Yes - I know - alphabet soup! I received my IFS training from the IFS Institute, and my ITR training from the ITR Training Institute . I am based in Portland, Oregon, but as a practitioner and coach, I am able to accept clients from across state and national borders.

I provide sessions for individuals who want to heal from childhood trauma, recent experience, ongoing situations, or a combination. We are learning that trauma can also be passed down from earlier generations through epigenetics, and still be healed now. I have absolute confidence that you are capable of recovering from any of these wounds, for a better, kinder life.

And Here’s Why

I haven’t seen anyone decide to work on to inner healing because they were having a good day. If you’re like most of us, we don’t get off the dime until something hurts, a lot, for a long time. But once we make the commitment, I believe we can transmute pain, and heal whatever is holding us down. Why am I so confident? Two reasons. The first reason is, I’ve seen it. I’ve worked with people who have created lives they now actually want to be in.

The second reason is, I’ve done it. This isn’t theory for me. I’ve been in the hot-seat of vulnerability and action that you are considering, and I have reaped the rewards. I have “done my homework,” and am not afraid of the rain, yours or mine. I have complete confidence in the human ability to recover and heal, given the willingness to take action.

If you are considering working with me, I offer one free 30-minute session so you can chat, ask questions, and get a feel for my style of work. I also suggest you look over my choosing a mental health practitioner page. It’s all about finding the right professional for YOU. Whatever you do - I urge you to stay true to your journey of Self knowledge, because you ARE worth it.
